What are you thankful for?

We do have thousands of things to be thankful for whether we realize or not but one thing we are pretty good at doing is rather complaining about events, situation or things that do not go our ways. We complain for the merest things and I mean the merest such as complaining for the extra fries which does not have enough fries, the extra tomatoes that we ask on our sandwich not having enough tomatoes, the water coming out of the faucet is too warm or too cold or it takes two seconds too long for the lights to come green on our side of the road, the TV channels not actually having enough channels for us to watch though we already have more than 90 of them, we complain about the preacher who prays or preaches too long, the sun not getting out or it is too hot or too cold and I can go on and on but I am going to stop here so that I do not get you depressed.

But, how many times have we stop to count our blessings! See, life is has you take it! It is actually the half full half empty theory! You can complain about your hamburger or you can sy thank you Lord that at least I have appetite! You can complain about your cable, how about you take the time to be grateful that you have electricity 24/7.

I have these instances but I am pretty sure in everybody's personal life it is something different and when you truly do a self examination you know what I am talking about!

Of course they are those who are grateful just on some particular occasions! Being grateful should be an everyday thing! Every breath we take we should think about it and thank God! Once again it will be impossible to do, so my point is whatever is bordering you that you are not happy about, there are thousands of others that if you really take the time you would find that you should have been grateful for!

I thanks God that America has set aside a day to give thanks though some people make it rather an eating till you can't anymore event! I am grateful that I myself will think about my blessings more rather than than my misfortune! Millions of people would rather be in my place! Please don't take me wrong I am not telling to sit here and make no efforts being satisfied where you are not all... But if you are conscious enough of where you are and thriving for excellence as you have in mind the various things that could have gone wrong with you but did not, in my opinion you can become a better citizen.

Stop and be reminded always that no one owes you a thing! Be thankful to the ones who offer help and pass it on! Keep it going like that and also pay it forward as much as you can! There are so many things that we are blessed with without even knowing it or just taking it for granted. As a matter of fact what we are blessed with and should be thankful for and do not even notice, outweighs what we are knowingly thankful for! So, one more reason to always be thankful!

Let's all be thankful for everything God has done for us! He gave his son to die on the cross for our sins! We did not deserve it at all and no matter what we do we can't pay him back but if we are thankful we can be in a better position to help others which as result will make us a better person.

I thank God for my family! My siblings and extended family, my friends and most of all I thank him for giving me hope that tomorrow can be better if I act on it today in a positive way!

Happy Thanksgiving! What are you thankful for?

Happy Veteran Day

Today is a day of remembrance for those men of uniform who have fought for us. Specially those who have been fighting on foreign soil so that they do not have to fight the war inland!

salute you all veterans! I know you are from all age range, you are from different countries therefore different background though you might have the English language in common, many of you have a primary language.

In spite of all this difference you are fighting, you fought or are serving for one purpose only! Keep us safe in America and help other countries enjoy democracy I salute you all for your bravery and determination!

As we are celebrating our veterans let not also forget the Fort Hood shooting rampage victims! No matter what your religious or political stand is nothing justifies this barbaric and coward act. You do not like something you are free to express yourself but do not take it on anybody! They are just following orders!

It all comes to this, whether you want to admit it or not: People need the Lord! He is peace and will take your burden away from you!
People need to realize that even when they do not think about it, somebody somewhere is doing the hard work of protecting them and it should not be taken for granted!

Have a wonderful veteran Day and if you see a former/active men in uniform tell him/her thanks for the sacrifice!

I voted!

Today was a very special day for me since it was the first time I ever voted on a US election! I was so happy! Because of freedom we can go to the poll and decide who we want to be in power or what issue we care about! Let us remember this is not free many before us fought for that and many more are still fighting for it to all of them I say thank you for your devotion! So go ahead and vote! Not voting is actually choosing someone you would not want to win! Always vote! It matters!

I could not help but notice though that I was not asked for my ID when I got to the poll and I have learned that there is a big controversy about that depending on which side you are in! Please tell me what you think! Should you present your ID to vote?
